Sharp Band Lead Vocal Rachel Ogunyemi Resigns To Start Xcellentos Band


Rachel Ogunyemi, one of the lead vocals of popular live band, Sharp Band has left the group to start her own band called Xcellentos band.

Rachel, a versatile and contemporary singer with a strong range of vocals started her musical career at the age of 8 in her parent’s church before she went professional in 2004 when she formed a music teenage group known as the fountain singers.

                                                       
A graduate of Theatre Arts and Music, she took music as her full time career after graduating from the Lagos State University (LASU) in the year 2009.

In 2011,Rachel joined DClique vocals led by Maestro Demola Olota, where she functioned as one of the female vocalist and performed various kinds of music. She also joined the Sharpbandallstars now known  as the 99allstars in the year 2013 where she also functioned as one of the female singers, performed various kinds of music and majorly the Alujo and tinga style of music.

                                    
She has also performed with top musicians such as Tuface,Wizkid, Olamide, 9ice, Waje, Darey Art Alade, Olujazz, Sir Shina Peters, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Demola Olota, Gloria Ibru, Dede Mabiaku and many others. 

                                                           
Before now, Xcellentos band was formerly known as the Excellentband but had to change after series of discussions with her management.

The band has been functioning at weddings, birthdays, concerts, dinners and other kinds of events.
